Kevin Durant believes Micah Parsons will be playing for the Washington Commanders very soon. While speaking with Kay Adams at Fanatics Fest, the two-time NBA champion, who is a Commanders fan, made his prediction about Parsons.

“I think he will be Commander at some point in his career,” Kevin Durant said. Adams then asked Durant when he thinks Parsons will be in Washington.

“I will say two years from now,” Durant replied. Micah Parsons was there with Durant and Adams, and while he didn’t say that would happen, the Dallas Cowboys star pass rusher gave some love to Commanders head coach Dan Quinn.

“Yo, I only rock with Dan Quinn,” Parsons said. That made Durant happy, as he said, “Exactly. That’s all ya need to rock with!”

It would be interesting to see Parson in Commanders colors, but the Cowboys are working to get a new contract extension for Parsons. Earlier this month, ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared the latest on Parsons and his pending contract extension with Dallas.

More on Micah Parsons and Kevin Durant

“He’s going to become the highest-paid player in National Football League history. The only question is when,” Schefter stated, via Get Up. “He said he’d like to have that deal done in the next month. There already have been extensive conversations.

“… At some point in time, Micah Parsons is going to have a deal that tops the one that went to Maxx Crosby, that tops the one that went to Myles Garrett, and will give Dallas the highest paid defensive player in NFL history, to go along with the highest paid player in NFL history in Dak Prescott.”

Parsons is coming off a 2024 season that saw him record 43 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in 13 games. He was named to his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl and earned some Defensive Player of the Year votes. In his career, Parsons has notched 52.2 sacks in four seasons. He was named Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021 and has been selected to the All-Pro Team three times.

Durant made the comments as he learned he was traded to the Houston Rockets. The 15-time All-Star with the Phoenix Suns for a little over two seasons and finished the 2024-25 season with 26.6, six rebounds and 4.2 assists per contest. Along with being a two-time NBA Champion, Durant won the NBA Finals MVP award twice and was named an All-Star 15 times.
