Kevin Harvick gives surprising take on which race had best finish in 2024

Kevin Harvick gave a surprising answer regarding which race had the wildest finish during the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series campaign.
During the latest episode of Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour, the Harvick, Kaitlyn Vincie, and Mamba Smith decided to look back at the season that was in 2024, dishing out some serious honors via the first Happy Hour Awards Show. Of course, deciding which race had the craziest finish this past season was one of the categories.
“Our next award is the craziest finish. We had a lot of really good finishes. There was a lot of close ones, in Xfinity and Cup, to be honest. So, let’s see who our nominees are,” Mamba Smith prefaced. “We’ve got Kyle Larson beating Chris Buescher by .001 at Kansas, which I know the No. 17 wishes they had that one back, because that’s the one that got away, for sure. Daniel Suarez beats not only Ryan Blaney, but also Kyle Busch at Atlanta, when they’re three-wide looking like Cars the movie coming across the finish-line.
“Ricky Stenhouse Jr. beats Brad Keselowski by .006 at Talladega. And then Austin Dillon wrecks his way to Victory Lane at Richmond. He just did what he had to do.”
Evidently, choosing a victor wasn’t easy for Harvick, but he decided to roll with Kyle Larson’s victory over Chris Buescher at Kansas Speedway as his pick.

“I find this to be the most difficult category to vote on, because all of those finishes are pretty spectacular in their own way,” Harvick stated. “And, you know, if one of those finishes didn’t have the other three, it would be — it would still be just as spectacular. But can you imagine that we had all that in one year? I picked Kyle Larson because I thought it was the most authentic, hardcore racing finish that we had it of the year.
“Suarez beating Blaney, eh. You know, it was exciting, but it was a super-speedway. Stenhouse-Keselowski at Talladega, super-speedway. Austin Dillon, he won kind of (in) a wrecking-ball-type moment. I just — I picked Larson over Buescher, just because of the fact I thought it was the most authentic.”
Kyle Larson’s win at Kansas Speedway was certainly a memorable one, and it probably took the most skill of any of the finishes that were nominated. While it may be a surprise to some that’s that where Kevin Harvick gravitated, but it’s easy to see when you look at it from a former driver’s persecutive.
