Wherever Kevin Love has played throughout his NBA career, he’s been a formidable part of his team. He’s been with the Miami Heat since 2023, but now his future is in a bit of flux, as the star forward was part of a three-team trade that sent him to the Utah Jazz on Monday. The Los Angeles Clippers were involved, as well.

In true K-Love fashion, he had a hilarious reaction to the news. He took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share it with the world. Check it out below.

“Never thought I’d be a math problem,” Love posted on X, as he’s on his way to Utah in the deal. “Welcome to the NBA.”

Per ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Clippers moved Norman Powell to Miami in the deal, receiving John Collins from the Jazz. Meanwhile, Love, Kyle Anderson and a 2027 Clippers second-round pick will also be heading to the Utah as part of the deal.

The veteran’s comment is alluding to him being included in the deal due to his salary, as it was needed to make the move work. Whether or not he ever suits up for the Jazz remains to be seen. His contract could be bought out and, in theory, Love would be able to sign wherever he’d like. We’ll see if that comes to fruition.

Last season, Love played in 23 games for Miami, starting nine. He averaged 5.3 points per game, along with 4.1 rebounds and 1.0 assists. The Heat finished 37-45 on the season, good for third in Southeast Division. They won their play-in games to get to the playoffs, where they were swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round.

Moreover, Love’s career has spanned 18 seasons, and he’ll be 37 when the 2025-26 season rolls around. It makes sense why Utah, or any other team in the NBA, would be interested in his veteran presence, as long as he recognizes his role moving forward.

Time will tell what the future holds. One thing is for sure, Kevin Love has already enjoyed a tremendous NBA career. That’ll ring true, regardless of whatever happens next for the Santa Monica, California native.
