Kyle Busch congratulates son Brexton after busy day ends with Junior Sprint victory

Keeping up with Kyle Busch is hard these days. Between his own racing and his son Brexton taking on a varied schedule, it’s busy in that family. This week, preparing for NASCAR Speedweeks and the Daytona 500, the Busch family did some dirt racing, and Brex came away with a win.
Each year it feels like Brexton is taking on a new kind of car. With his dad at his side, he has one of the best to ever do it guiding him on his path to his own racing career. He is just about as busy, if not busier than his father, too.
Kyle and Samantha Busch have done so much to make sure B-Rex, as they call him, is ready for whatever he wants to do next. On Thursday night, Brexton tested his Bandolero car and then raced in the Junior Sprint event at Marion County Speedway.
It was a fruitful day of testing and racing as Brexton got the win in front of his family.
Kyle Busch congratulated his son on a job well done. “Way to go Brex,” Busch wrote on Twitter/X.
Brexton just signed an extension with his sponsor, ServPro the other day. So, we are going to see him enter his double-digit years with the green and orange of his longtime sponsor. Between now and the Daytona 500, I’m sure the Busch family has a lot of races planned out.
Kyle Busch preparing for Daytona 500
You could say the one thing missing from Kyle Busch’s resume is a Daytona 500 win. He was leading on lap 200 last year, the end of regulation. However, he had to deal with restarts and overtime at the end of the race, which ended in him getting a DNF finish for P19.

This year, there is something extra special about the Daytona 500. Busch will enter his 20th year of trying to win this race. There was another all-time great who had to wait 20 years until he knocked down the door to his Daytona 500 victory.
Of course, I’m talking about Dale Earnhardt Sr. There have been some parallels drawn between Busch and Earnhardt over the years. His move to RCR just solidifies that even more.
The Daytona 500 is a race that eluded plenty of drivers in their careers. However, it is also one that has made careers. There is nothing more special than watching a great driver win the biggest race of the year. I think back to Jeff Gordon’s wins, Dale Jr.’s victories at Daytona, and even Denny Hamlin’s three wins.
Seeing Kyle Busch win the Daytona 500 would be a historic moment for the sport. It would be a relief unlike any other for Busch and his team as well. After 20 years of trying, is this the year that Rowdy wins the Harley J. Earl?
