Kyle Busch drops hilarious 'Days of Thunder' edit featuring his reverse driving at Charlotte

NASCAR Cup Series star Kyle Busch is having some fun with his performance from Monday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in which he became a meme after driving half a lap in reverse.
Following a P6 finish at Charlotte, Busch took to Twitter Tuesday to allow fans to relive his epic impersonation of Ricky Bobby. Busch tied it in with another cinematic masterpiece, “Days of Thunder.”
Busch drove backwards in hopes of preserving his No. 8 Chevrolet after going for a spin on Lap 176 in Stage 2. He drove a half a lap in reverse after the spin despite his team urging him to whip it around to avoid losing a lap. Busch, worried he would tear up the underbody of the car if he did, continued in reverse.
“Gotta find a flat spot so you don’t f—— kill everything. Hold on!” Busch told his team, per Jeff Gluck of The Athletic.

Kyle Busch has ‘up-and-down’ day in Coca-Cola 600
Busch, the 2015 and ’19 Cup Series champion, picked up his second consecutive top-10 finish with the P6 result at Charlotte. A two-time winner this season, Busch sits 10th in the points standings. Though he remained in contention throughout the 600-mile race, Busch described his day as “up-and-down.”
“Coca-Cola 600s are normally up-and-down, so we definitely had an up-and-down day,” Busch said after the race, via NBC Sports. “But the guys fought hard all race long and made some good repairs. We made a lot of good adjustments. There were a couple that we had to go back on, and then go back on again. But all-in-all, just proud of everyone on the No. 8 Alsco Chevy team.
“Our car wasn’t as fast as we wanted on the fire-offs there – we wanted the long run to finish. Even though we hadn’t been good on the long runs all night, we adjusted for that, but we just didn’t get it. We’ll take a good solid effort and top-10 finish.”
