While he still has a year until the Indy 500, Coca-Cola 600 double in 2024, Kyle Larson is already getting used to his Arrow McLaren team. IndyCar is going to have a little bit of NASCAR next season with Larson hopping in a ride for Indy. Can the 2021 Cup Series champion pull off the unthinkable next year?

Kyle Larson has already been fitted for his seat. However, there is a lot of work to be done between now and the Indy 500 next year. It seems that Larson and his Arrow McLaren team are going to get to know one another pretty well before they get to business.

Ahead of the All-Star Race, Larson talked about his time with the McLaren team. He was in Indy this Thursday to go over some things. He knows the challenge that lies ahead.

“Yeah I think so,” Larson said when asked if it felt more real now, via Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports. “I think yes but also no, you know? It’s still so far away it truly doesn’t seem real I think until I like get in the car on the ground and fire an engine up and I think I’m gonna be scared. It doesn’t seem super real but I’ve been trying to pay attention as much as possible.”

Of course, Kyle Larson is going to have to go 230+ MPH around an oval, amid a field of other drivers and cars. That is a little quicker than his Cup Series car.

“They’re crazy,” Larson remarked. “I guess I’ll be crazy, too.”

Kyle Larson has been having a pretty good weekend so far. He’ll try to make it even better with a big payday tonight.

Kyle Larson hoping to follow up Truck Series win with All-Star Race win

The return of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to North Wilkesboro was epic. The crowd was packed into the stands, and there was some great racing throughout the field. Even with the usual mistakes that the Truck Series drivers make, it was a great race overall.

Kyle Larson ended up taking the win in the Tyson 250. Late restarts threatened his position in the front, but when you have the best driver in the best truck, things end up going your way.

In the heat races on Saturday night, Larson wasn’t as fast. He couldn’t get the speed and didn’t find any good places to pass on the track in the Cup car. Hopefully, we won’t see more of that in the main event on Sunday night.

With $1,000,000 up for grabs, I’m sure Kyle Larson and plenty of others will be motivated to win tonight. The All-Star Race is set to go green tonight at 8:00 PM EST on FS1. There’s a big payday coming for one driver at the historic NASCAR venue.
