As if there was any doubt after he took the lead. Kyle Larson wins the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Tyson 250 at North Wilkesboro in convincing fashion. Driving the No. 7 HendrickCars.com Chevy Silverado, Larson showed that he had speed and determination, and honestly, he’s just another level above the rest of the field.

In the last few months, people have started to realize just how great Kyle Larson is as a race car driver. He will race in the Indy 500 next year. He races sprint cars in his free time away from NASCAR and does all kinds of racing. So, it’s no wonder he felt at home in the Truck Series as he led 138 laps on the day.

Corey Heim might have been the fastest in qualifying, but Larson is the one who earns the win at North Wilkesboro. 27 years in the making, Yung Money takes the checkered flag in the first points-paying NASCAR race at the track in a generation.

This was a race that Kyle Larson shouldn’t have even been in. Alex Bowman was slated to race this No. 7 truck for Spire Motorsports. With the back injury to Bowman weeks ago, it was decided that Larson would replace him.

In just 15 Truck Series starts, Larson has three wins, five top-5s, and 11 top-10s to his record. So, what can we expect from him on Sunday? While he was strong in the trucks, I’m sure he’s ready to race for that big paycheck tomorrow.

Ty Majeski was able to pull off a P2 result with Matt DiBenedetto, Carson Hocevar, and Bubba Wallace rounding out the top-5.

Kyle Larson etches his name in history

No matter what becomes of North Wilkesboro after this, Kyle Larson is going to be in the history books. 27 years after the last points-paying race at this track, Larson comes out and wins with a strong performance all around.

Even when late cautions threatened his position on the track, he kept at it. He knew his truck was fast and he knew that he could get it around whoever he had to in order to win. Ross Chastain and Bubba Wallace tried their best. Those two stayed out while others went to pit.

The move was smart. Chastain and Wallace finished better than if they had gone to pit road. However, Kyle Larson just had a rocket ship under him.

With the laps winding down in the Tyson 250, Wallace tried blocking. Then, Larson went around the hard way and didn’t look back. He was off to the checkered flag. One final restart put this race into overtime, it was no challenge for Larson as he went on to take the win.
