The Baltimore Ravens took down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-22 on Thursday night to move to 5-3 on the season. Quarterback Lamar Jackson had the perfect response after the game when he found a fan’s sign with a pretty clear message to his bosses in Baltimore.

Jackson held up a sign that read: “Ravens Pay ‘Em Now!”

The sign also had the numbers 7 and 8 on it. Those refer to the Louisville alum and 2021 first-round draft pick Rashod Bateman.

Lamar Jackson has been very vocal about his desire for a larger contract with the Ravens. In July, he changed his Twitter cover photo to a picture of a smile with four teeth engraved with “I NEED $.” He missed OTAs as he tried to work out a new deal but the team ultimately avoided further negotiations.

The Ravens reportedly offered Jackson an extension worth $250 million in September, which he declined. Of the sum, $133 million would have been guaranteed at signing, which was the main sticking point for him, according to ESPN. Baltimore’s star signal-caller saw Deshaun Watson get a $230 million contract fully guaranteed and insists he is worth more than the embroiled former Texan.

Jackson was the Ravens’ first-round draft pick in 2018 and Baltimore recalibrated its offense to suit his running ability. He won the MVP in 2019 when he threw for 3,129 yards and 36 touchdowns in the air. He also rushed for 176 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

Jackson appeared in 12 games last season and still put up good numbers. He threw for 2,882 yards and 16 touchdowns with 133 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

So far this season, the fifth-year player has the sixth-best QBR. He has just over 2,100 total yards with 17 touchdowns and six interceptions.
