Lamar Jackson injury update: Adam Schefter shares latest after another missed practice for Ravens QB

Amidst ongoing injury concerns this season, Lamar Jackson missed another practice on Wednesday. But ESPN’s Adam Schefter says that has little effect yet on what he expects his status to be for this weekend’s game against the New York Jets.
Schefter shared the latest on Jackson’s availability, coming off that missed practice yesterday, while on ‘Get Up’ on Thursday morning. He said he was sidelined with an ankle issue, but that he doesn’t anticipate it keeping him out for the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12.
“Didn’t practice yesterday with an ankle injury. Last week, he didn’t practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury. It turned out to be a situation where they were resting him, getting ready for Sunday,” Schefter explained. “This sounds like it’s a similar situation where they’re resting Lamar, keeping him off of the ankle on Wednesday and we think that he’ll be back at practice today, and certainly expected to play on Sunday.”
Jackson has dealt with injuries through the duration of this season for Baltimore. That started with a hamstring injury against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4 that kept him out until a week after the Ravens’ bye. That then resulted in a fine due to how the franchise reported that specific instance.

Jackson returned against the Miami Dolphins in Week 9. Then, as Schefter noted, Jackson missed practice last week on Wednesday before eventually playing against the Cleveland Browns, resulting in a 23-16 win in Week 11.
The Ravens are undefeated since returning from their bye, being 4-0 with wins against the Chicago Bears and three straight road wins against the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns. Jackson has appeared in those last three games off of injury.
It’ll at least be worth monitoring what Jackson’s status is today at practice, with him returning to practice in full after his absence last week. However, Schefter doesn’t sound too concerned yet that Jackson would be set to potentially miss the next game against the Jets on Sunday. The Ravens return home to try to get to a fifth-straight win to reach 6-5 overall as they’re still a few games out of the playoffs in the NFL.
