Lamar Jackson left the Ravens’ loss to the Chiefs Sunday with a hamstring injury and his availability moving forward is up in the air. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Jackson sitting out the next couple of weeks is definitely a possibility.

In the 37-20 loss, Jackson was just 14-of-20 for 147 yards, one touchdowns, one interception and ran six times for 48 yards. At 1-3, Baltimore is certainly in some sort of desperation mode.

They’ll host Houston this weekend, perhaps without Jackson, and then host the Los Angeles Rams. Jackson’s return could come on October 26th when Baltimore takes on the Chicago Bears.

“Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson’s status is up in the air for this week’s game against the Texans because of the hamstring injury that forced Jackson to leave Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs in the third quarter because of a hamstring injury,” Pelissero said. “John Harbaugh did not add a lot of details about the injury when he spoke with reporters on Monday, other than to say there was no way that Lamar could have come back into the game, even if the score were more competitive.

“That is certainly an indication that Lamar Jackson is in danger of missing time because of this injury, the schedule also, potentially is a factor. They’ve got two more games before a Week 7 bye. Given Jackson’s play style, his importance to the team, could the Ravens potentially hold Lamar for the next two games give them almost a full month to recover and make sure he’s fully healthy after the bye? We’ll get more answers when the Ravens get back on the field for practice on Wednesday.”

In four games, Jackson has 869 yards, 10 touchdowns, one interception and a 71.6% completion percentage. He also has 166 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Unfortunately, the Ravens fell short to the Buffalo Bills on opening weekend 41-40 and had a shootout loss to the Detroit Lions, 38-30, in Week 3.

Losing Jackson in the middle of the game against the Chiefs certainly didn’t help either. To return to the playoffs, Baltimore certainly needs its MVP franchise QB.

Cooper Rush entered the game Sunday amid Jackson’s injury. He’d be in line to start if the former Heisman Trophy winner cannot return this week or beyond.
