Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed practice on Wednesday ahead of the team’s matchup against the New York Jets. The Ravens announced that Jackson was one of the eight players who did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

This is not a big surprise, as Jackson missed the first practice of last week due to knee soreness. He returned to full participation in the coming days and was taken off the injury report ahead of the game against the Cleveland Browns.

On Sunday, Jackson struggled against the Browns, completing 14 of 25 passes for 193 yards and two interceptions in the Ravens’ 23-16 victory. Baltimore won the game because it rushed for 184 yards and allowed just 187 total yards against Cleveland.

After the game, Jackson talked about winning a game while making multiple mistakes. “[It says that we can] fight through adversity,” he told reporters, per the team’s official website. “At the same time, this is a divisional game, so we know type of game it’ll be. I guess not with the turnovers and stuff like that, but we knew it was going to be a dog fight.”

Lamar Jackson reacts to Ravens’ winning streak

The Ravens are now 5-5 on the year after having a 1-5 start. When asked about the team’s winning streak, Jackson said the Ravens are just taking it one week at a time.

“We weren’t really worried about trying to be 5-5; we were trying to be 2-5 at the time, or 3-5,” Jackson said. “We’re just trying to take it one game at a time. Obviously, we were 1-5 and we’re not used to starting slow, at all, so we just had to worry about what was in front of us, just like we did tonight.”

Of the eight Ravens players who missed practice on Wednesday, six are starters. The other five starters who missed practice were safety Kyle Hamilton, linebacker Roquan Smith, left tackle Ronnie Stanley, left guard Andrew Vorhees, and wide receiver Rashod Bateman (ankle). Tight end Isaiah Likely and cornerback Keyon Martin also missed practice.

The Ravens’ Week 12 game against the Jets will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. They are looking to win to keep up with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have a 6-4 record and a one-game lead over the Ravens in the AFC North.
