Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who missed last Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, did not practice on Thursday. He seems to be in danger of missing his second consecutive game this weekend against the Los Angeles Rams.

Following Sunday’s game against Los Angeles, the Ravens will enjoy a much-needed bye week. This means that Jackson should 100% be back in time for Baltimore’s Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Jackson suffered the injury in Baltimore’s blowout 37-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. Through four games this season, the two-time Most Valuable Player has passed for 869 yards, 10 touchdowns and just one interception. On the ground, Jackson has rushed for another 166 yards.

“No Lamar Jackson yesterday,” ESPN insider Adam Schefter said on Thursday morning’s ‘Get Up‘. “It is tracking for him not to play again on Sunday. Let’s keep in mind that the Ravens have a bye week after this upcoming game against the Rams. So, if Lamar Jackson doesn’t play Sunday and right now it doesn’t seem like he will, he would get two weeks to rest up that hamstring injury and then make a push in the second half of the season.”

Baltimore has opened season with dreadful 1-4 record

The trouble for Baltimore is that the season has already gone sideways on it. Going into the game against the Rams, the Ravens are just 1-4. That included two close losses to Buffalo and Detroit when Jackson was healthy. It also includes blowout losses to Kansas City and Houston when he was injured.

As of now, it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers that lead the AFC North at 3-1. So, the Ravens are already playing catch-up. Another loss before the bye week and Baltimore will be in a massive hole that, even with a schedule that eases up in its level of difficulty and a healthy Lamar Jackson, would be difficult to overcome.

Since Jackson went down, Baltimore has been turning to Cooper Rush. A formerly undrafted quarterback, Rush is best known for his time with the Dallas Cowboys, where he was the backup to Dak Prescott. Now, he’s in his first season with the Ravens. In three games this season, he’s completed 69.7 percent of passes for 231 yards and three interceptions. He doesn’t have a touchdown pass.

Baltimore is set to host Los Angeles on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST. It hasn’t been made official yet, but it appears that the Ravens will turn to Rush ahead of an injured Jackson once again.
