The Baltimore Ravens got some good news about Lamar Jackson, who is dealing with an ankle injury ahead of the Week 12 game against the New York Jets. The team announced that the star quarterback returned to practice on Thursday after not participating on Wednesday.

This is the second straight week that Jackson has missed practice on Wednesday only to return on Thursday. Last week, the former Louisville star was dealing with knee soreness after the game against the Minnesota Vikings. This week, Jackson injured his ankle after being sacked five times by the Cleveland Browns.

Jackson has played in seven of the Ravens’ 10 games this year. He missed three straight games after suffering a hamstring injury against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 28. Jackson returned on Oct. 30 and has helped the team win the last three games. So far this year, Jackson has completed 68 percent of his passes for 1,442 yards, 15 touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 115.5 passer rating.

One big difference about Jackson this year is that he’s not running the ball as much as he had in previous seasons. In seven games, the 28-year-old has rushed for 226 yards and one touchdown on 39 carries.

John Harbaugh praises Lamar Jackson’s production this year

On Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was asked why Jackson has not used his legs to make plays. Harbaugh did not have much to offer, though.

“I don’t really have an answer for that. It’s not required,” Harbaught said. “Next thing you know, Lamar [Jackson] will break out and run for 100 yards. So, that’s always – I’m sure defenses have to consider that as a possibility, and that’s a good thing for us.”

Harbaugh was also asked about why Jackson was completing under 60% of his passes in the last two games. That, he pushed back on.

“[Lamar Jackson is] winning games,” Harbaugh said. “Finding ways to win the game – that’s what counts; that’s what matters, and I think Lamar did a great job in both of those games of playing that kind of winning football.”

Jackson will look to lead the Ravens to their fourth straight win when they take on the Jets at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday. They need to keep winning to keep pace with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have a one-game lead over the Ravens in the AFC North.
