LeBron James teased the “decision of all decisions” in a very vague announcement on Monday. James tweeted out a teaser video of “The Second Decision.”

If you remember ahead of his free agency prior to his Miami Heat tenure, James was apart of ESPN’s TV special The Decision. It was one of the most followed NBA free agency stories of all time. He left the Cleveland Cavaliers for Miami and really no free agency has equated the hype.

It remains to be seen what this next one will be. But if you tell a viewing audience LeBron James is going to replicate The Decision in some sort of fashion, perhaps it’ll be monumental to his career.

James wrote in his post on Twitter/X that The Second Decision will happen Tuesday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m. ET. It’s unclear if it’s about his playing future, a partnership deal or something else entirely.

In the original TV special back in the summer of 2010, James chose the Heat over re-signing with the Cavaliers and signing with the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and then-New Jersey Nets. He’s currently in the final year of his deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Since he’s under contract, James wouldn’t necessarily reveal if he’s going to play elsewhere after his final year with the Lakers. That’d be insane!

So while we all wait for what “King James” will do, many can speculate. Heck, he could even retire at this point.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith actually suggested James return to Cleveland chase one more championship. The future Hall of Famer currently has four rings (two with the Heat, one with the Cavs and one with the Lakers).

“Well, you know, I’m here in Cleveland, you know. It’s been a while since I’ve been here…And, you know, it gets cold here, you know, but it’s a nice town, great sports town and what have you,” Smith said. “I saw the Cleveland Cavaliers this past season, and I’m a huge, huge, huge Donovan Mitchell fan, okay. That brother is something special, right? But the absence of help during the postseason was very glaring. They got bounced up out of there.

“And then I thought about Los Angeles. We know, it has become crystal clear that that pretty much, the weather and Hollywood is the only reasons why LeBron is there, because he damn sure ain’t winning no damn championship there. It ain’t gonna happen, okay – not with Oklahoma City, be mindful of Dallas, don’t dismiss Houston, Minnesota and (Anthony Edwards) already sent them home…I think (the Lakers) are going in the right direction, keeping LukaOf course, that’s a given. But, getting specifically to LeBron, it has gotten to a point where I think it warrants – bro, why don’t you just come back to Cleveland to end your career?”

James ranks No. 1 all-time in career scoring with 42,184 points, No. 4 in assists with 11,584 and No. 25 in rebounds with 11,731. The Lakers are set to tip off the regular season vs. the Golden State Warriors on October 21st.
