Year 10 for Will Compton is a full go, with the long-time NFL linebacker heading to the Atlanta Falcons. This will mark the third different team Compton has played with other the last three years, signing later in the season to come help as a reinforcement.

Compton announced the move himself, using his personal Twitter account to post the breaking news. In a hilarious video, he called out the haters by saying they are going to have a rough Tuesday dealing with him being back in the NFL.

“Atlanta, I’m coming,” Compton said. “Haters, take a sick day tomorrow. You’re going to need the entire day to recover. You’re probably in a blender right now, you don’t know which way is up right now… Yes, I am in shape. I know I’m 33 and I’m white. We’ve had to be smart with the legs. That’s why we avoid the first half of the season the last couple years.”

Compton played for the Las Vegas Raiders a season ago, playing in just two games. He was only used in a special teams role and recorded a singular tackle in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Will Compton reports Matt Rhule is interviewing for Nebraska job

It’s flight tracker season in college football, which means it’s time to speculate about all those Unidentified Flying Football Coaches who are darting all over the country. According to The Athletic’s Mitch Sherman, Nebraska football might have flown in former Baylor and Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule to interview for the head coaching job.

He wrote that “a private jet, registered to an Omaha trucking company that has provided significant financial support to the [Nebraska] football program, flew Monday from Omaha to Charlotte, N.C.” Charlotte being Rhule’s home since he was most recently coaching the Panthers, who play in Charlotte.

Will Compton added more fuel to the Matt Rhule firetweeting on Tuesday, “I’m hearing Matt Rhule is currently in Nebraska and the connection is strong with the Huskers.” Sounds like he may be interviewing for the job right now.

A lot of hints pointing to Rhule being a very serious candidate for the Cornhuskers’ head coaching gig.
