Report: Lions DC Aaron Glenn sets second interview with New York Jets
The New York Jets will interview Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn for a second time, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“Lions DC Aaron Glenn, one of the top coaching candidates, is set for an in-person, second interview with the Jets, per me and Mike Garafolo,” Rapoport wrote on Twitter. “Glenn will have options and electing to do his first visit to the team that drafted him, where he was an All-Pro, is significant.”
SI’s Albert Breer reported Glenn will also take a second interview with the New Orleans Saints Wednesday, one day after the Jets.
Glenn seems to be the front-runner for the Jets, considering the second interview with the team. Detroit is bracing for the loss of Glenn and OC Ben Johnson this cycle.
The Lions won’t be preparing for the NFC Championship Game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. The top seed in the conference fell to the Washington Commanders 45-31 Saturday night.

Now that they are in their offseason, a lot of change is likely coming to Detroit.
“They’re going to lose both their coordinators,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said of the Lions. “Aaron Glenn’s going to get a head coaching job. Ben Johnson’s going to get a head coaching job. And the Lions are going to be in search of two replacements for two guys right now who are tracking to land head coaching jobs.”
Glenn has been the defensive coordinator in Detroit since 2021. He helped the Lions clinch the No. 1 seed in the NFC this season, despite losing Aidan Hutchinson and other starters to injuries during the year.
Johnson is a coach every team with an opening in the NFL seems interested in talking to. The Lions led the NFL in scoring this year at 33.2 points per game, thanks in large part to Johnson’s creativity.
