Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow owes a portion of his success this season to his offensive line, and he rewarded them accordingly this holiday season.

In a video tweeted by Front Office Sports, fans can see the custom watches Burrow bought for his offensive linemen this year.

Frequently docked for a subpar offensive line, the Bengals are trying to rebuild the unit. In 10 games last season before he tore his ACL, Burrow was sacked 32 times. In 15 games this year, he has been taken down 47 times.

Burrow is having a pretty good year, and his performance on Sunday was elite. The second-year quarterback completed 80.4% of his passes for 525 yards and four touchdowns. The 525 yards was the fourth-most yards in NFL history and a franchise record for the team.

In total, Burrow has thrown for 4,165 yards, 30 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2021. He is completing 69.9% of his passes and is averaging 285 yards per game. Burrow has two receivers that have eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards — rookie and former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Wiggins.

Bengals in driver’s seat in AFC North

The Bengals are currently in first place in the AFC North at 9-6, but they have yet to clinch a playoff spot. In a tight AFC race, the Kansas City Chiefs are the only team in the conference that have clinched a playoff spot.

The Bengals play the Chiefs next weekend in Cincinnati, then they head to the Cleveland Browns to close out the season. The Browns have not yet been eliminated from the playoffs, and they currently sit in the No. 12 spot. Cleveland got the best of the Bengals earlier this year; they beat them 41-16 on Nov. 7.

Burrow responds to keeping foot on gas pedal on Sunday

In a 41-21 beatdown of the Baltimore Ravens last weekend, Burrow faced backlash for continuing to throw the ball while the game was already in Cincinnati’s pocket. But the second-year pro wasn’t having it, firing back at critics with a strong response.

“This is the NFL,” Burrow said. “This isn’t peewee, this isn’t high school where you go out and run up the score. You play until the final whistle. I don’t care what the score is.

“They did it to us last year. No sympathy from me.”

His final throw for a score came with more than 10 minutes remaining on a 10-yard connection with Tee Higgins. However, the quarterback continued to pass even on the final drive with the game already in hand.

With two minutes remaining, he launched a deep pass to Joe Mixon that went for 52 yards. After completing the throw, Burrow simply turned around and shrugged.

It was later reported that Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor told Burrow not to throw on that play, but the quarterback did so anyway.
