Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews’ season likely came to an end Thursday night after he suffered an ankle injury against the Cincinnati Bengals, John Harbaugh told reporters. Andrews went down on the first drive of the game and headed to the locker room before being ruled out for the game.

Logan Wilson made the tackle as Andrews caught a 9-yard pass from Lamar Jackson and limped to the sidelines afterward. He ended up going to the locker room and, eventually, the X-Ray room while moving with crutches.

Now, it looks like his season is over.

“Unfortunately on the negative side, Mark Andrews has a very serious ankle injury,” Harbaugh said, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “It looks Iike a season-ending injury. So our prayers will be with Mark.”

Baltimore did enough to win the game without him, though, as Jackson threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ravens to the 34-20 victory.

Andrews is one of the most important pieces for the Ravens this year, entering Thursday’s game second on the team with 521 receiving yards along with a team-high six touchdowns. Amazon Prime’s Kaylee Hartung said the emotions showed as Andrews left the field.

“You talked about what he means to this offense, Lamar Jackson threw his helmet to the ground when Mark went down and Odell Beckham was the last one to talk to him before he left the field,” Hartung said during her initial update.

The Ravens are off to a solid start to the season this year, bringing a 7-3 record into Thursday night’s game against the rival Bengals. Jackson is in the midst of an impressive season, as well, with 2,177 yards and 10 touchdowns while adding 481 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground in Todd Monken’s new offense.

However, it hasn’t been perfect, and Jackson was candid about some missed opportunities in the lead-up to Thursday’s game.

“I mean it’s right there. I’m pissed off about it to be honest with you,” Jackson said, via BaltimoreRavens.com’s Ryan Mink and Clifton Brown. “I watched the game, and it’s like it might be a difference in the game if we connect with that one. Can’t dwell on it. Hopefully this Thursday we catch them when we want them, we have success with the deep ball, we connect and have chemistry there.

“I believe it’s there, in practice we do it all the time. Those guys catch the ball down the field 40 yards, 50 yards down the field. We need to transition that over to the games, that’s all.”
