Is everything okay with Martin Truex Jr.? The now-retired NASCAR champion is selling off seemingly all his memorabilia. Online, NASCAR fans picked up on the fire sale of items related to Truex and his career in the sport.

Two-time Xfinity Series champion, a Cup Series champion, two-time regular season champion, and so many moments in between. Martin Truex Jr. is one of the best to ever race in NASCAR and is a beloved and respected figure by fans.

Recently, fans noticed that Martin Truex Jr. is selling things off en masse. A lot of it appears to be items from the last few years of his career. Truex is even selling off his 2017 and 2023 Cup Series regular-season championship trophies.

Among other items circulating around: Final win trophy from New Hampshire, retirement gift from Toyota TRD, and his NASCAR 75 Greatest Drivers watch and shirt. Some of the price tags on these items are up there. That 2023 regular-season championship trophy will cost you almost $2750.

Martin Truex Jr. amassed 34 wins and 25 poles in the NASCAR Cup Series during his career. It is no secret that he prefers to keep to himself for the most part. He likes to spend his time outdoors hunting and fishing.

So, the question is this: Is he selling these things to pay for a new boat or hunting hobby, is he clearing out what is surely a crowded trophy room, or does he want to be rid of these things for personal reasons?

It is interesting to see that these are more recent items. His retirement gift, the 75 Greatest Drivers memorabilia, the regular season championship trophies, and even that final win trophy. Perhaps these are the things he isn’t as nostalgic for and sentimentally connected to? Unless he ever comes out and tells someone, which he likely won’t, we’ll never know.

Martin Truex Jr. out, Chase Briscoe in – and winning

While Martin Truex Jr.’s NASCAR career ended on a dud in 2024, that doesn’t take away from what he did behind the wheel for the two decades prior. But I look back on that 2023 season. Three wins, a regular season title, and while the playoff run was short-lived, it was a fantastic season at his age, especially.

Now, Chase Briscoe is in the No. 19 car for Joe Gibbs Racing. Same Bass Pro Shops sponsorship on the car, and same crew chief in James Small. From winless in 2024 to multiple wins this season, and by all appearances, a championship favorite.

This season, there have even been multiple references, even from Briscoe himself, about the 19 team having a present driver. Briscoe is at the shop every week. Truex was not. Briscoe is in the competition meetings. Truex was not at the end.
