Following Marvin Harrison Jr.’s No. 4 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, his rookie contract numbers have been revealed.

According to Spotrac, Harrison Jr. will sign a fully-guaranteed four-year deal worth $35.3 million, including a $22.5 million signing bonus along with a fifth-year option in 2028.

The first non-quarterback to be selected during the 2024 NFL Draft, Harrison Jr. is expected to immediately contribute to the Cardinals’ offensive unit. He is also the first wide receiver the Cardinals have selected in the top five since taking Larry Fitzgerald in 2004.

Harrison was one of the most coveted prospects in the draft. And he leaned into that as he prepared for the draft. Harrison didn’t work out at the NFL Combine nor at Ohio State’s Pro Day. Rather, he said he trained for the football season, not combine drills. Scouts looked at his game videos and knew what to expect from Harrison, a Heisman finalist.

The receiver had an amazing career with the Buckeyes. But everyone knew that he had this brilliance in his blood. Literally. His father, Marvin Harrison Sr, is a Pro Football Hall of Famer. Harrison Jr ranked as a four-star prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

In three years at Ohio State, Harrison had 155 catches, 2,613 yards, 31 touchdowns and 16.9 yards per catch. He eclipsed 1,200 yards in each of his last two seasons after playing sparingly as a freshman.

As a member of the Class of 2021, Harrison Jr. was a four-star recruit out of Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph’s Prep School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was No. 4 overall prospect in the state, the No. 11 wide receiver in the class and the No. 73 overall prospect in the class.

Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort explained why this was the perfect fit for Harrison in Arizona.

“We’ve done a lot of work on him,” Ossenfort said, via the Carindals’ team page. “Marvin is everything we’re looking for. He’s big, he’s fast, he’s a good route runner, he catches the ball, he separates. And on top of that, he’s a great person.”

Now, Harrison Jr. can make the most out of his opportunity to showcase his skills in the NFL for the Arizona Cardinals.
