According to Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater of the NFL Network, the Las Vegas Raiders are not trading Maxx Crosby. Rumors began to fly on Tuesday about a potential deal with the Dallas Cowboys. However, the Raiders have now thrown cold water on the idea.

The #Raiders met with star DE Maxx Crosby today to let him know they aren’t shopping him and won’t trade him, sources tell me and @SlaterNFL,” Pelissero said via X. “While other teams are interested, the Raiders aren’t interested in moving their best player, and Crosby wants to stay in Las Vegas.”

Pelissero later added onto the report, saying the most important thing for Crosby is winning. Doing so in a Raiders uniform trumps all, though. Reassurance from the front office comes for him ahead of the trade deadline, stating he is not going anywhere.

“Nobody wants to win more than Maxx Crosby, and he wants to do it with the #Raiders,” Pelissero said via X. “Despite various rumors with the trade deadline 2 weeks away, the face of the franchise isn’t leaving Las Vegas.”

In seven games played this season, Crosby has 28 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, and four sacks. But the team success is not there right now. Las Vegas is not trending in the right direction after a 31-0 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, sitting at 2-5 and dead last in the AFC West. Every other team in the division possesses a record over .500.

Dallas Cowboys team rumored to be interested in Maxx Crosby

Former ESPN personality Trey Wingo set social media ablaze with his own tweet, saying the Cowboys inquired about Crosby. Now, the report ends any kind of dream fans might have had of getting a new star on the defensive side.

The need for a pass rusher in Dallas is an obvious one ever since trading away Micah Parsons. A lot of defensive moves might be needed, at least from the outside, but getting an elite player off the edge solves some problems for the Cowboys. Even with a few guys on the roster already finding success.

They are in good shape to acquire a player due to the Parsons trade. Dallas holds an extra two first-round picks over the next two years from the Green Bay Packers, maybe using them to bring in an impact player. Unfortunately, Crosby will not be the guy.
