Micah Parsons' agent addresses if he planned to sit out games before trade from Cowboys

Micah Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta said the star pass rusher did not plan to sit out prior to his trade from the Dallas Cowboys. Now with the Green Bay Packers, Parsons is working to rehab his back injury and play Week 1 of the NFL season.
There were questions and rumors that Parsons would’ve sat out Thursday’s opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Mulugheta said that was never on the table.
Basically if Parsons didn’t play, it would’ve been due to injury. Now, he’s continuing to work his way back.
“Micah loves the game too much, you know, he was going to play no matter what,” Mulugheta said on First Take. “He had a back injury. I know a lot of people like to put the quotations around a back injury, but he had a back injury. He was on medicine for it. The Cowboys physicians said he had a facet joint sprain, as well as Dr. Watkins, who’s arguably the best back doctor in the country … So no, he had a real injury, but at no point did he plan on that keeping him off the field.
Micah Parsons wasn’t going to sit out of Cowboys, unless due to injury
“The Cowboys were never told that he would not play. He always intended to play football. He was going to be on the field Thursday to play against the Eagles. So I’m not sure exactly you know why that’s being said about Micah. Throughout his career, I think he’s missed five games, his entire career as a Cowboy, so I’m not sure where that came from. He’s played through many injuries.”

Parsons is uncertain for his Green Bay Packers debut against the Detroit Lions Week 1, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He’s been dealing with a back injury.
“Packers LB Micah Parsons has been dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and he may take an epidural injection prior to Sunday’s game vs. the Lions if needed to help him play, per sources,” Schefter wrote on Twitter/X. “Before trading Parsons last week, the Cowboys prescribed him a five-day plan of an anti-Inflammatory corticosteroid, a prednisone to help him recover from back tightness.
“They also had him on a physical therapy program. Parsons has been practicing this week and he is trying to play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Lions, though one source said it still is uncertain if he will.”
