Micah Parsons injury update: Former NFL doctor offers devastating initial diagnosis on Packers star from video
Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered an injury during Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, and a former NFL doctor believes it’s serious. David J. Chao went to social media to share the video of the injury and predict his diagnosis.
“By video, left knee ACL tear,” Chao wrote in the post. “Hope the film lies. Walking off the field, but…”
Micah Parsons suffered the injury while he was going after Broncos quarterback Bo Nix in the third quarter. It was a non-contact injury, and Parsons was taken to tthe locker room after being on the ground for a while.
If Chao is right and Parsons suffered a torn ACL, it would be a big blow to the Packers, who are battling the Chicago Bears for the NFC North title. The Packers acquired Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys before the start of the season, and he has been one of the best defensive players in the NFL. Entering Sunday’s game, the former Penn State star has registered 12.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss through 13 games.

Micah Parsons reacts to making NFL history
In late November, Parsons made history by becoming the first player in NFL history to record 12-plus sacks in each of his five seasons. “I feel like going into the offseason, it was supposed to be my year, my year to be the best player and just trying to live up to that,” Parsons said at the time, per Wes Hodkiewicz of Packers.com. “Obviously, not having (training) camp, it took me a little more of a while to get into a rhythm. Being in championship football games, division games, I just have to step up my level of play and just be the person they brought me in to (be).”
“It’s really a shout to my teammates, every person I play with, they’re a testament to all,” Parsons added. “You can’t do it by yourself. I just think it’s a little bit of everything. But honestly, man, I’m just so thankful and blessed to be a part of history and my own self and, obviously, doing it with the Green Bay Packers, someone that has such a rich history.”
