Micah Parsons injury update: Packers fear devastating news on All-Pro pass rusher
The Green Bay Packers fear that edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s 34-26 Week 15 road loss to the Denver Broncos, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Parsons will undergo an MRI to determine the official diagnosis.
The injury occurred in the fourth quarter as Parsons was rushing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Parsons’ injury was non-contact, and he immediately hit the ground and motioned to the training staff. Parsons was holding his left knee as trainers tended to him. He was in obvious pain. Players from both teams gathered around Parsons as trainers worked on him, checking out the injury.
Parsons, 26, is in his first season with the Packers. Green Bay acquired him from the Dallas Cowboys just before the season, a move which signaled they were ready to compete for a Super Bowl. Parsons has been everything and then some for Green Bay.
Micah Parsons has been dominant in first season with Packers
He came into Sunday’s game having logged 39 tackles, 12.5 sacks and a forced fumble. In the last month alone, Parsons has recorded 17 tackles, 6.0 sacks and a forced fumble. He also had a three-sack game earlier in the season against the Arizona Cardinals.

Before allowing 391 yards and 34 points to Denver, Green Bay had the league’s No. 5 ranked defense. Parsons has been arguably the biggest reason to the Packers’ success on defense and now, it appears they won’t have him for the postseason and beyond. Simply put, it’s a crushing blow for the Packers.
Green Bay has dealt with several injuries on offense. Tight end Tucker Kraft tore his ACL last month. The receiving core has been banged up though last Sunday, their top five wideouts were active for the first time this season. But then, Christian Watson left this Sunday’s game with chest injury. Another injury in a season full of them for the Packers’ best players.
Green Bay dropped to 9-4-1 on the season with the loss to the Broncos. They currently occupy the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC.
