Green Bay Packers All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered a torn ACL in Sunday’s Week 15 road defeat to the Denver Broncos. The organization feared the outcome after the game and an MRI confirmed it.

Parsons on Monday shared a statement on social media. He vowed to “rise again.”

“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated,” Parsons wrote on X. “This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony. I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it.

“I’m deeply grateful to the Packers organization and my teammates for their unwavering support, love, and belief in me during this season. I trust His timing, His plan, and His purpose. I will rise again.”

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter as Parsons was rushing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. Parsons’ injury was non-contact, and he immediately hit the ground and motioned to the training staff. Parsons was holding his left knee as trainers tended to him. He was in obvious pain. Players from both teams gathered around Parsons as trainers worked on him, checking out the injury.

Packers lose Micah Parsons for rest of season

Parsons, 26, is in his first season with the Packers. Green Bay acquired him from the Dallas Cowboys just before the season, a move which signaled they were ready to compete for a Super Bowl. Parsons has been everything and then some for Green Bay.

He came into Sunday’s game having logged 39 tackles, 12.5 sacks and a forced fumble. In the last month alone, Parsons has recorded 17 tackles, 6.0 sacks and a forced fumble. He also had a three-sack game earlier in the season against the Arizona Cardinals.

Before allowing 391 yards and 34 points to Denver, Green Bay had the league’s No. 5 ranked defense. Parsons has been arguably the biggest reason to the Packers’ success on defense and now, it appears they won’t have him for the postseason and beyond. Simply put, it’s a crushing blow for the Packers, who dropped to 9-4-1 on the season with the loss to the Broncos.

“For the rest of the season, what we got, three more opportunities?” defensive end Rashan Gary said after the game. “Watch how the front play. We had a meeting at the end, brought all the guys up, understanding that there’s going to be a lot of opportunities the next three weeks and we’ve got to take advantage of it, so you’re going to see how we play.”
