Micah Parsons is heading to the Green Bay Packers after being dealt by the Dallas Cowboys. Now, it’s time to figure out what number he’ll wear for the NFC North franchise.

The defensive star is leaning on his new fanbase for some help. On Friday, he took to social media to ask which number he should rock with the Packers — No. 0 or No. 1.

Either choice would be a fascinating one. His patented No. 11 is currently being worn by Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed, so it seems like Reed will keep his digits. Parsons will be the one looking for a new start in a new place.

Either way, Parsons is excited to be in Green Bay. When news broke of the trade on Thursday, Parsons shared a video of his highlights in Dallas on X/Twitter, which was followed by footage of legendary Packers pass rusher Reggie White. In the caption, Parsons wrote, “Thank you Dallas ….. GO Pack Go!”

In a follow-up post, Parsons issued a message to the Cowboys fans. “From the moment I arrived in Dallas, you embraced me and my family as your own,” Parsons said. “You made a kid from the east coast feel right at home in Texas. Every time I pulled up to work, every time I stepped onto that field, I felt the weight and pride of representing you. You didn’t just give me a jersey, you gave me a place to belong.”

Parsons continued: “I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control. My heart has always been here, and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process.”

Parsons went on to say that it’s a “sad day, but not a bitter one.” The former Penn Statestar then added that “North Texas will continue to be my him in the offseason,” and “Wearing the star has been the honor of my life.”

In exchange for Parsons, the Cowboys received two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark. Parsons then agreed to a four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers that includes $120 million fully guaranteed at signing, according to ESPN, becoming the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The Cowboys selected Parsons in the first round (12th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft. In his four seasons in Dallas, Parsons recorded 52.5 sacks and 63 tackles for loss. He has made the Pro Bowl every season and was named to the All-Pro Team three times. He’ll be a force, no matter what number he wears.
