Micah Parsons and Trevon Diggs found a way to add some fun into the Dallas Cowboys training camp on Saturday afternoon. Even after a hard day’s practice on a hot July afternoon, the pair were still full of energy.

The two defensive stars were seen getting into a friendly shadowboxing match with each other. Photographers gathered round them to capture it all and Jon Machota of The Athletic even recorded a video, which you can view below.

It’s certainly a hilarious moment to see between the two teammates and representative of the team bonding aspect that is so important to training camp. Parsons and Diggs will be working alongside each other as two of the premier players for Dallas’ defense this coming season.

Diggs, who three seasons ago set the NFL record with 11 interceptions, is coming off of a torn ACL that limited him to only two games this past year. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive back’s return should hopefully boost a passing defense that already ranked fifth in the NFL this past season.

Parsons is getting ready to enter his fourth pro season and was a Pro Bowl selection in each of his first two years. He finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2023 after recording 64 tackles, 14 sacks and a forced fumble.

Together, they look to be leaders for a Cowboys team that is coming off another Wild Card exit in the playoffs. Dallas opens up preseason play in roughly two weeks on Aug. 11 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Micah Parsons makes surprising revelation on former Cowboys DC Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn had been the only defensive coordinator that Micah Parsons had in Dallas before this offseason.

Both came into the Cowboys organization ahead of the 2021-22 season, and the two grew a tight-knit relationship during that time. Quinn has since become the head coach of the Washington Commanders and the two have parted ways. Still, they maintain contact outside of football.

“He still checks in on me,” Parsons revealed, via NFL insider Jon Machota. “That’s still my big uncle, someone I love very much. But at the end of the day, I got a job to do. And that’s kick his ass twice a year. We can hug afterwards.”

Quinn, 53, has served as Parsons’ defensive coordinator for the past three seasons. Dallas’ defense took a big jump in 2023, finishing as the No. 5 ranked unit in the league.
