Mics catch Viktor Hovland get hit with bird poop at Open Championship: ‘I just got s*** on’

Viktor Hovland will soon find out whether getting hit by bird poop means good luck on the golf course.
The Norwegian star was preparing to hit a shot from the fairway during his opening round of the British Open (otherwise known as The Open). As the large white seagull flew away, Hovland took a step back and told his caddie “I just got shat on.”
We’re not sure of the golfing protocol for this sort of natural accident. Hovland wiped away the remnants. But surely this happens more than we think, since it’s all outdoors with lots of trees. The best golfers in the world currently are gathered at Royal Liverpool Golf Course for The Open, the final grand slam on the schedule. Laughing at yourself surely will get you to relax.

As Viktor Hovland wiped off mess, Georgia Tech star was in lead
So here’s the setup for the dump. (Sorry, it happened)
Viktor Hovland was at even par as he tackled the 15th hole. It’s a par-5, so it was ripe for a birdie. Alas, Hovland got a par, which probably was a good score, all things considered. He did notch a birdie on No. 16.
The story of the day is South African Christo Lamprecht, the amateur golfer from Georgia Tech. He shot a five under 66 and was the co-leader with Tommy Fleetwood of England and Emiliano Grillo of Argentina.
