Mike Tannenbaum torches Aaron Rodgers, Steelers: 'Irrelevant by Thanksgiving'

Mike Tannenbaum doesn’t believe Aaron Rodgers will make a big impact with the Pittsburgh Steelers this fall. While appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, the former NFL general manager made a prediction that Steelers fans did not want to hear.
“I’ll make a bold prediction, Greeny. I think Aaron Rodgers is gonna be irrelevant by Thanksgiving. Irrelevant,” Tannenbaum said Wednesday morning on ESPN’s Get Up, per Awful Announcing. “A non-playoff team, a 42-year-old quarterback, who’s a legend, that’s going off into the sunset.”
Mike Tannenbaum then explained why he made the prediction. “Tell me why they’re gonna be relevant?” Tannenbaum continued. “They’re the third-best team in the division. They’re gonna have to find out about Will Howard, who they drafted from Ohio State, who I think is very intriguing.”
The Steelers selected Will Howard in the sixth round of this year’s draft. Yes, Pittsburgh will need to find out more about the former Ohio State quarterback, but they signed Aaron Rodgers to a one-year, $13.65 million contract to be relevant in November, December, January and hopefully February.

Aaron Rodgers explains why he signed with the Steelers
Rodgers played for the New York Jets last year and led the team to a 5-12 record. However, the four-time NFL MVP had a solid year throwing the ball, completing 63 percent of his passes for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
On Tuesday, Rodgers told reporters why he signed with the Steelers. “I think it starts with Mike Tomlin. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time,” Rodgers said following the Steelers’ afternoon practice. “There’s a few iconic franchises in the NFL. I played for one of them for 18 years. This is another one of those. There’s something special about this area.
“So many great quarterbacks are from Pittsburgh. I feel like Pittsburgh has been a part of my career from the beginning, playing for Mike McCarthy for 13 years, having Tom Clements, or Tommy Clements, depending how old you are, as my quarterback coach forever, Don Capers, Kevin Greene, Darren Perry, Derrick McAdoo, Frank Cignetti, Luke Getsy. I don’t want to forget anybody, but there have been a lot of Yinzers in my life.”
