ESPN NFL analyst Mina Kimes is a big fan of what the Pittsburgh Steelers did in the 2024 NFL Draft. While appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live, Kimes praised the Steelers for the picks they made over the weekend.

“This might be my favorite [draft] class, honestly, in the entire NFL,” Kimes said. “The three players that they took with their first three picks – [Troy] Fautanu, Zach [Frazier], [Roman] Wilson – I would use the same words to describe all of them which are athletic and nasty, which you usually use for offensive linemen, not for receivers, but that’s what Roman Wilson will be doing in this offense.”

Kimes also expressed how much she likes Wilson playing for the Steelers. “He pairs extremely well with George Pickens,” Kimes added. “They needed a slot guy who can do exactly what Roman Wilson does. I feel like they hit this one out of the park.”

The Steelers addressed their offensive line by selecting Fautanu and Frazier with the first two picks. After picking Wilson in the third round, Pittsburgh went on to select linebacker Payton Wilson, offensive lineman Mason McCormick, defensive lineman Logan Lee and defensive back Ryan Watts.

Mel Kiper Jr. is on the same page as Mina Kimes

Kimes is not the only ESPN personality to love the Steelers’ draft class. Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. graded every team’s draft class and gave the Steelers an “A-.” He said that Fautanu is one of his “favorite picks in the draft,” and the entire class is “stellar.”

After the draft, Steelers general manager Omar Khan shared his thoughts on the 2024 class. “Very pleased how the weekend turned out for us,” he said, per the Steelers official website. “We addressed some needs, but really got some high-character guys and some players that we think are going to help us not only this year but in the future and are going to be great parts of this community.”

Khan also talked about the team selecting Fautanu as their No. 1 pick. “Excited to have him as a member of this organization,” Khan stated. “We spent a great deal of time with him. We met with Troy at the Combine. We had him in here as a 30 visit. We are excited to have him here.

“I would say that he was a player that we had rated really high up on the board. He was one of the guys that we were hoping would be there and that we were targeting. When he was, we were on the clock – when they, when we were at 19 and waiting to see what the Rams picked, and it was just – we just felt really good about it. He’s the player we wanted.”
