Oregon needed a last-second field goal to escape with an 18-16 win against the Hawkeyes on Saturday. The Ducks led for most of the game before Iowa marched 93 yards downfield in 12 plays to score the go-ahead touchdown with just under two minutes remaining.
That put Oregon in hurry mode, and it took a 24-yard pass from Dante Moore to Malik Benson to put them in field goal range. A few plays later, Atticus Sappington drilled the 39-yarder to prevent a disaster for the Ducks.

As for Minnesota, the Golden Gophers are coming off of an overtime win against Michigan State in Week 10 that saw them become bowl eligible. Minnesota had a bye this past week and will come into the game against Oregon well-rested.
This will mark the first meeting between the Ducks and Golden Gophers in more than 20 years. Minnesota won the most recent meeting 31-30 in the Sun Bowl in 2003, back when Oregon was a member of the Pac-10.
In fact, Minnesota owns a 3-1 all-time advantage in the series overall. However, they’ll face to tall task to improve that record this coming week as underdogs on the road against a Ducks team that surely will come in focused after this past week’s close call.
