If you have been on NASCAR social media lately, there is a hot new rumor going around. Managing Director of Racing Communications Mike Forde is clarifying those rumors. Is there another track getting the “Atlanta treatment” in the near future?

The rumors started to swirl around. Then, it became more detailed. It wasn’t just any intermediate track, it was supposedly Kansas Speedway. You know, the track that is heralded as perhaps the best venue for the Next Gen car.

Fans and folks in the NASCAR industry were reacting without reacting. As many people do on social media. There was a lot of talking around the subject. That was until Mike Forde jumped in today.

The good news: the track isn’t Kansas. Bad news: the rumor might be true about another track that fans enjoy.

This gained some steam so…” Forde wrote on X/Twitter. “Can at least confirm that this isn’t happening for any [NASCAR]-owned tracks.”

So, Forde is saying this, if true at all, is about a Speedway Motorsports venue. This eliminates Kansas. It also eliminates Homestead-Miami. Thank goodness. What track could it be about, then?

Well, it could be Las Vegas or Texas. Both of those tracks are 1.5-mile tracks. Only Vegas puts on good racing and finishes, though, like the original tweet says above. So, I can’t imagine it is about Texas, but honestly, they should do whatever they can to make that track better. It has not been great.

Now, here’s my wish – if we’re going to do this to any track – do it to Kentucky. Of course, that’s selfish, I want my hometrack back in the rotation. Unfortunately, I think that Kentucky is going to stay dormant. Perhaps forever.

NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol gets violent

Just an absolutely violent hit. Brennan Poole couldn’t get to the bottom of the track quickly enough and slammed into Sheldon Creed. The No. 00 was a sitting duck after being spun out by Dean Thompson late in Stage 1 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Bristol.

You hate to see these kinds of hits. Sheldon Creed was spun out and got his car stopped on the high side of the track, pointing down perpendicular to traffic. Breenan Poole came off of Turns 3 and 4 on the high side. He attempted to get down the track, but lost control of his car.

High speeds at Bristol and short-track bumping create these horrific incidents. Creed got out of his car, and it rolled down the track and into the wall. Poole had the wind knocked out of him, but both drivers left their cars under their own power.

Huge hit for Sheldon Creed and Brennan Poole. Both drivers left the infield care center and spoke to the media.
