NASCAR makes change to track surface at Nashville Superspeedway ahead of race weekend

The officials at NASCAR and Nashville Superspeedway decided to spray resin in the turns ahead of the race weekend. They were then able to go through with the tire dragon, a device used to wear away resin and get it more suitable for racing after applying the substance.
With the concrete surface, adding resin helps keep grip on the track. Drivers won’t be slipping and sliding as much as they would had it not been applied. Then again, there were two Truck Series drivers in the wall coming out of turns today in qualifying.
The track has been slightly altered. That resin likely won’t play a big factor, but it is something NASAR likes to apply just to make sure the racing is orderly. Fans may or may not notice, but it is nothing that out of the ordinary.
Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports shared the news.
Nashville Superspeedway is once again hosting a full NASCAR weekend. Truck, Xfinity, and Cup Series races. Fans will not be disappointed with the action in Music City. It feels like this track and this fanbase put on a great show most of the time.
If we think back to Bristol where a substance was applied on a track, it shows how severe the changes can be. This weekend is going to be hot and the track will be slick. With the added resin, we should see competitive and fun races.

Nashville Superspeedway welcomes back Clint Bowyer
One exciting storyline at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend is the fact that Clint Bowyer is returning to racing. Bowyer is set to pilot the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevy. He was solid in qualifying, just missing out on the top-10 in P11.
While Bowyer has been away from racing in NASCAR, he has kept his skills as sharp as possible. A little racing here and there. But this will test him. Bowyer is a talented driver who had a successful Cup Series career. Making his way back to competition won’t be easy.
So, what else is going on in Nashville? Well, the Xfinity and Cup Series are ready to take to the track on Saturday and Sunday. It is still June, but that means we are halfway through the NASCAR season. Drivers have to start making moves and earning good results if they feel they are behind the ball.
Nashville Superspeedway is ready to host a full NASCAR weekend. It is a great atmosphere, great fans, and there are great drivers coming to the track. What are you most excited about for this weekend?
