NASCAR official acknowledges Tyler Reddick as regular season champion after Darlington snub

A week after Tyler Reddick won the Cup Series regular-season championship, NASCAR is finally acknowledging his accomplishment. Denny Hamlin called out officials on his podcast for no one presenting Reddick with his championship trophy.
After the race at Darlington, the regular season championship was set up on a podium with a banner behind it. The 45 team and the owners of 23XI Racing all took photos with the trophy.
However, according to Hamlin, no one from NASCAR presented the award or made an appearance.
Well, Elton Sawyer acknowledged Tyler Reddick for his championship in the Atlanta drivers meeting, according to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. Too little too late? Or better late than never?
23XI Racing is causing a lot of noise this week. 23XI and Front Row Motorsports are reportedly the only two teams to not sign the NASCAR charter agreement. The Michael Jordan-owned team took it another step further with a statement. Co-owner Curtis Polk has also been speaking out.
“NASCAR has consistently refused to deal with 23XI – these negotiations, we are David facing Goliath. NASCAR has superior bargaining power and undue influence over the sport and the charter process,” Polk said to the media earlier on Sunday.
It is clear that 23XI Racing does not believe they are being treated fairly. Whether they are able to actually move NASCAR on the charter agreement remains to be seen. While this seemed to be settled, there will be more drama around these negotiations.

Tyler Reddick hopes to lift another trophy
With the regular season championship won, Tyler Reddick only has one more goal in mind – win the Bill France Cup in Phoenix. Whether he’s able to do that or not remains to be seen.
Starting at Atlanta, things are going to be unpredictable. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, then you are going to be a DNF and lose a ton of points. Despite having 15 bonus points entering the playoffs, Reddick has to be careful.
The last time the Cup Series was at Atlanta, it ended in a three-wide finish for the ages. This track is racey, it allows drivers to move up and down and make moves how they want. But they will have to work in the draft as well.
Tyler Reddick and the 45 team start the playoffs with hopes of lifting one more big trophy. 10 races to decide the 2024 Cup Series champion. Who is going to prevail?
