Time for a wild ride through the Irish Hills of Michigan for the NASCAR Cup Series. We’ve got a fast one on deck! Michigan International Speedway is one of the best tracks on the schedule, and it could have a few surprises for fans this weekend.

The paint schemes are great. Teams are bringing a lot of really nice cars to the track this weekend. Michigan produces great racing in the Next Gen car. It will likely be the fastest race of the season, and it could produce an electrifying first-time winner.

Let’s get into the paint schemes. Folks are going to love these cars, and they will look fantastic on the track.

Ross Chastain No. 1 Busch Light Apple Chevy

Busch Light Apple! Frat bros rejoice! Ross Chastain is riding in the red scheme this weekend and it looks very refreshing.

Trackhouse continues to put up great paint schemes each week in NASCAR. This week is no different. 9/10.

Denny Hamlin No. 11 Yahoo! Toyota

Purple race cars are one of my favorite things ever. Yahoo! does it better than anyone else. Denny Hamlin could use another good run after a solid P3 finish at Nashville.

Hamlin is looking for his next win. Why not Michigan this NASCAR weekend? 8/10.

Chris Buescher No. 17 Kroger/Kraft/Artesano Ford

A delicious purple race car, I really like these Kroger designs from RFK Racing. Chris Buescher has won at Michigan in the past, and I like his chances this weekend.

Ford finds speed at their home track of Michigan. A little BBQ sauce might give Buescher the boost he needs to get another win in the Irish Hills. 8/10.

Joey Logano No. 22 Hunt Brothers Pizza Ford

This NASCAR weekend is very red and purple. Was there a memo sent out to the Cup Series? Joey Logano is back with Hunt Brothers Pizza for Sunday.

I really like the red HBP car. It is bright and bold and looks good under the lights or under the sunshine. Simple, but effective. 8.5/10.

Bubba Wallace No. 23 Columbia Sportswear Toyota

One of the best paint schemes of the year, Columbia is back with this great pink and aqua(?) design. The No. 23 car rarely looks so good.

Bubba Wallace has a chance to follow up his P6 finish at Nashville with a strong run at Michigan. Should be a lot of fun to watch this car on Sunday. 9.5/10.

Ryan Preece No. 60 Castrol Ford

RFK Racing has got it perfect with this Castrol design. I love it on whatever car they stick it on. Ryan Preece is another driver who I wouldn’t be surprised to see have a big day and compete for the win.

Preece has been close. On the high-speed track in Michigan, the NASCAR driver could find the right formula. Powered by Castrol, of course. 8.5/10.

Carson Hocevar No. 77 Zeigler Auto Group Chevy

A golden scheme for the home race! Carson Hocevar will be easy to see, not that it will help his competitors. A flash of gold and black and BAM! into the wall. Jokes aside, great paint scheme.

Hocevar is the new bad boy of NASCAR. Let’s see if he keeps it up this weekend. 9/10.

Shane van Gisbergen No. 88 Safety Culture Chevy

What did I say about purple race cars? Shane van Gisbergen has been getting a handle on these higher-speed ovals. Michigan might be where he puts it together for a top-10 performance.

While many have pointed to his struggles, I think we are seeing SVG learn relatively quickly. With how close these cars are to each other in performance, it’s hard to stand out, even in better equipment. Let’s see if SVG can pull off a great performance this weekend. 8/10.
