Corey Heim has won the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs race at Loudon, New Hampshire. Two drivers have been eliminated. Let’s get into what went down and which drivers are now out of the championship running.

With another dominating victory, Corey Heim has stopped another championship contender from moving on to the Round of 8. Only two eliminations for the NASCAR Truck Series Playoffs this time around.

Chandler Smith came up one spot short of winning his way into the next round. Jake Garcia fell short on points and is also eliminated.

Chandler Smith really did his best today. The team at Front Row Motorsports also did their best. It was just too much for Smith to overcome with his two mistakes to open the NASCAR Playoffs. Darlington and Bristol were far from good races. The points deficit he accumulated was far too much to make up without another driver having issues.

This race was actually very chaotic to start. Four cautions in the first stage made it difficult for anyone to really get a rhythm. Stage 2 was better, but this race had mistakes. There were multiple instances of drivers wrecking and causing issues for others.

For the most part, drivers in the NASCAR Playoffs were fine. Daniel Hemric did get some damage in an early wreck, but he locked in on points before the end of the race.

NASCAR Playoffs Round of 8 for Truck Series

The next three races are going to decide who goes to Phoenix to race for the NASCAR Truck Series championship. The NASCAR Playoffs are always unpredictable, but for now, the Truck Series has gone according to schedule.

Corey Heim is head and shoulders above the competition, but Layne Riggs is climbing. A mixture of talent and experience in the series has led Heim to have a historic season. He has officially tied Greg Biffle for most wins in a single season in the series. He will likely break that tie before the season is over.

Riggs really is the one driver keeping Heim from being comfortable right now. No offense to the others in the NASCAR Playoffs with them – there just isn’t a world where it isn’t the 11 or the 34. Then again, no one thought 2023 would play out the way it did, either.

In the last two seasons, Heim has come up short. While I’m sure that has crossed his mind, he way he’s racing lately ahs to have him confident moving forward in these NASCAR Playoffs.
