NASCAR Xfinity Series practice, qualifying delayed at Texas amid track drying efforts

The NASCAR Xfinity Series is at Texas this weekend as part of the tripleheader. Only problem is that the track is too wet. Rain came through earlier today to soak the track, and while jet dryers get to work, drivers are waiting things out.
Practice and qualifying are currently delayed. NASCAR drivers are waiting around in their street clothes until the track at Texas is clear enough to get out on and run laps.
Fans can tune into The CW app or website for live streaming. Practice and qualifying will be coming up shortly, and it appears that the rain for tonight is over with. Here’s to getting in on-track action.
UPDATE: NASCAR Xfinity Series practice at Texas has been canceled. Qualifying will take place if the track can be dried in time.
The track drying efforts have been going on for quite some time at this point. NASCAR has told drivers and teams that the track will be ready by 6:25 PM EST. There will be a combined, short practice of about 10 minutes. Then, qualifying will follow immediately afterward.
This race is very interesting. Kyle Larson is a late entry as he replaces Connor Zilisch due to injury. Larson won’t be the only Hendrick Motorsports driver on the track. Corey Day, a Hendrick development driver, is racing the No. 17 car this weekend as well.
This race also includes Riley Herbst. He is racing for Joe Gibbs in the No. 19 Toyota Camry. Perhaps a race in the Xfinity Series can help Herbst get that extra edge he needs in the Cup Series on Sunday. It has not been an easy season for the 23XI Racing rookie.

NASCAR at Texas gives next chapter in Xfinity Series season
Let’s be honest, the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas is important. This race leads into a two-week break for this series. Landing a big performance now, ahead of the hot summer stretch of the schedule, is important for many of these teams.
Texas is also the next chapter in a season that has been full of twists and turns early on. These first 11 weeks of the year for Xfinity have been dominated by Justin Allgaier. He has two wins and leads the points by 79. Allgaier has an average finish of 8.18, and that includes two finishes of P29 and P21. Eight of eleven races have resulted in a top-five finish or a win.
Fort Worth is going to be dry and ready to go soon. We just have to wait things out and hope that we don’t see anymore moisture for the rest of the night. The track likely has weepers, cracks, and gaps in the track where water leaks out of following a heavy rain.
So, a really short practice, straight into qualifying – surely we won’t see any NASCAR drivers hit the wall at Texas for this session, right?
