NBC ratings revealed for 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race at Martinsville

The ratings for the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race at Martinsville Speedway have been revealed. Per Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, the Martinsville race received an average viewership of 2.35 million on NBC. That is slightly down from last year, as it was 2.5 million in 2024.
Gluck then pointed out that when NASCAR was head-to-head with the Formula One race in Mexico City, NASCAR had 2.6 million viewers, while F1 had 1.3 million. The F1 race aired on ABC, ESPN3, and ESPN Deportes.
NASCAR fans saw William Byron win the NASCAR playoff race at Martinsville and clinch a spot in the Championship 4. He will go up against Denny Hamlin, Chase Briscoe, and Kyle Larson at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday.
Byron got the win after getting past Ryan Blaney for the lead late in the race. During his post-race press conference, Byron talked about making contact with Blaney to take the lead.

“That’s what you guys want to see, right? We’re going for it,” Byron said. “I feel like in that situation, yeah, I never, like, wanted to make contact because I felt like I had a good position, like I was inside of him. We also had the lap car. I can’t see where the lap car is in that instance. I just knew I wanted to commit to the corner and have position.

“I hate that we made contact. I think he was probably leaving just enough space, as well. I was going into the corner committed. That’s kind of fighting for space.”
Byron, Hamlin, and Briscoe earn spots in the championship race after winning races in the Round of 8. Larson made it on points, beating out Christopher Bell in the standings.
“We had good enough track position all day. We were kind of out of the mess, I guess. Yeah, that was good,” Larson said after the race. “My HendrickCars.com Chevy was fast. Our pit crew was on it all night. What a performance by William. That’s awesome. I think when the 12 gained control of the race, it was going to be really hard for anybody to beat him. William did a great job on the restarts, just kept positioning himself. Was good enough to get by him on that long run.”
