NBC Sports golf analyst drops massive F-bomb in reaction to Brooke Henderson's play at 2024 Olympics
It’s been a long couple weeks for Olympics broadcasters and every now and then there’s been a little slip of the tongue. The women’s golf competition provided quite the doozie on Friday morning.
As NBC cameras tracked Canadian golfer Brooke Henderson, they captured a particularly good shot on the course.
And even the announcers were fired up for Henderson, who turned to her caddie to celebrate. Her caddie, of course, is her sister, Brittany Henderson. Check out the ensuring commentary below (warning: NSFW language):
It’s not clear exactly which NBC broadcaster made the gaffe, but they were clearly excited for Henderson. NBC lists Steve Sands, Grant Boone and Tom Abbott as providing play-by-play commentary, John Wood and Karen Stupples as on-course commentators and Rex Hoggard as providing reports. Morgan Pressel and Mel Reid are analysts for the women’s competition.
Henderson started the day just outside of the top 10 entering the third and penultimate round of play in the golf competition. She would put together an excellent round on Friday, one of the best on the course.
Henderson finished her round at -5 under, bringing her to -2 under for the tournament, good enough for 11th place currently. The overall lead is currently at -7 (Columbia’s Mariajo Uribe and New Zealand’s Lydia Ko). So there’s an outside shot Henderson could still get into contention.

In any case, the funny gaffe lightened the mood a little bit as the tension rises down the stretch.
Scottie Scheffler wins gold in men’s golf
The men’s golf tournament has already wrapped up, with American Scottie Scheffler taking home the gold medal.
That came on the back of a massive performance Sunday when he shot a -9, which tied the course record. That put him at -19 for the Olympics and brought home the gold.
It was an incredible late charge and comeback for Scheffler to win the gold. He came into play on Sunday four shots out of the lead and heading into the back nine, he needed to surge past a crowded field to even make it to the podium. That included hitting four birdies in a row at one point on the back nine.
Also making the podium were Tommy Fleetwood of Great Britain who shot -18 for silver, and Hideki Matsuyama of Japan who shot a -17 for bronze.
Golf at the Olympics was played at Le Golf National in Guyancourt, which is outside of the city of Paris. 120 players were involved in the Olympic tournament there. It also acted as the host course for the 2018 Ryder Cup.
