The Week 10 NFL slate features some enticing matchups, including the San Francisco 49ers (5-3) versus the Jacksonville Jaguars (6-2) and the Detroit Lions (6-2) against the Los Angeles Chargers (3-4).

The same can’t be said for the Las Vegas Raiders’ (3-5) home tilt against the New York Jets (4-3), which happens to be scheduled for NBC‘s “Sunday Night Football” in Week 10. The NFL had the chance to change that — if they wanted — but opted not to. The deadline to flex the game out of the primetime slot came and passed Tuesday without a change, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

As things stand, viewers will see a quarterback duel featuring Jimmy Garoppolo and Zach Wilson — riveting stuff for the game we’re “waiting all day for.”

To be fair, the Jets are holding up their end of the bargain. Without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, New York has hit its stride in recent weeks, now winners of three in a row. The Raiders, on the other hand, have dropped back-to-back games after a 3-3 start.

NFL keeping Jets-Raiders in primetime slot

Their latest defeat came on “Monday Night Football,” a 26-14 loss to the Lions. Las Vegas is also dealing with trying to keep their star player, receiver Davante Adams, satisfied after another underwhelming performance against Detroit.

Adams hauled in just one of his seven targets for 11 yards, although if you watched the game, it’s hard to place any blame on the three-time All-Pro. His frustrations hit a boiling point with just a few minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, when he beat his man on a stop and go route to get open by a sizable margin. All he needed was a drop in the bucket from Garoppolo and he’d be running in for six.

That didn’t happen.

Garoppolo missed him by a ton, and the Raiders once again let an opportunity to get back in the game slip away. Adams could no longer hold in his frustrations after the Raiders failed to convert on fourth down, slamming his helmet on the sideline bench and mouthing some expletives to himself.

“Honestly, I don’t know what to say at this moment. I truly don’t,” Adams said after the game. “I wish I had the words to say something that’s not going to get blown up in the media and taken out of context, so I’m going to just… Truly, I just don’t know.”
