NFL insiders speculate on Tua Tagovailoa's future

With the rumor mill churning again, multiple NFL insiders have weighed in on the uncertain future of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. A potential Deshaun Watson trade promises to displace the second-year quarterback, who has struggled with injuries and inconsistent play over his first two seasons.
Whether moved to the rebuilding Texans, another quarterback-needy team or kept on as a backup, the trade offers a hiccup in the young quarterback’s once promising career. Here is a look at the latest speculation.
The latest on Tua Tagovailoa’s future
After the Deshaun Watson trade rumors resurfaced, KOA Colorado’s Benjamin Allbright and several NFL insiders shared “internet rumors” for Tua Tagovailoa to keep an eye on.
The Denver Broncos, who already have a short-term interest in Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock, have swirled in quarterback rumors since the spring. At one point, many named them favorites to land Aaron Rodgers. However, talks ended and the Green Bay Packers held onto their disgruntled star.
Another team mentioned by several people, the Washington Football Team, appears ready to shoot things down. NBC Sports Washington reporter JP Finlay’s sources called any rumors “all bs.”
The Houston Texans are a hot team, for obvious reasons, but NBC Sports Boston reporter Albert Breer is pumping the breaks.

“Don’t just assume another team’s young QB would be viewed by the Texans as an asset in a potential Deshaun Watson trade,” said Breer. “And I don’t believe the Texans would have significant interest in Miami’s Tua Tagovailoa.”
Potential Deshaun Watson trade
The Dolphins are progressing toward a trade for Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, according to the Houston Chronicle’s John McClain. The report suggests the deal could happen this week, with time to spare before the NFL’s trade deadline.
Miami has been linked with Watson since rumors surfaced this summer the star quarterback wanted out. However, the pending legal proceedings and ongoing battle with the Texans front office have put off negotiations. It now appears both sides are ready to talk as the Nov. 2 deadline approaches.
According to previous reports, Texans general manager Nick Caserio asked interested teams for three first-round draft picks and two second-round picks. Watson also has a no-trade clause, giving him final say.
Deshaun Watson remained on the Texans roster throughout the preseason and over the first six weeks of the regular reason but has not been active. Even after an injury to starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor, Houston opted for rookie quarterback Davis Mills over the disgruntled star.
