Noah Gragson confronts William Sawalich after Snowball Derby practice incident: ‘Can’t fix stupid’

We aren’t even to the weekend yet at the Snowball Derby and Noah Gragson is already pissed off with another driver. William Sawalich, Joe Gibbs Racing’s 18-year-old up-and-comer, is already on Gragson’s bad side.
Next season Sawalich will be racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Noah Gragson will be in his third season in the Cup Series.
Gragson is a former Snowball Derby winner. He loves this race. What he doesn’t love is a teenager running him up the track trying to do a mock run while he’s focusing on dialing in his race pace.
FloRacing caught up with Gragson and asked him about what had him so mad. On top of that, they got footage of Gragson getting in the 18-year-old’s face and telling him exactly what he thought.
If you can read lips, this should be a fun video for you.
“Yeah, yeah. I don’t, I don’t get it, man. It’s Thursday at the SNowball Derby and the Dip Dot in the 62 just running over us,” Gragson said to Matthew Dillner of FloRacing. “So, you know, we’ve been working really hard on this Port’s City race car, No. 30. We’re not quite where we need to be yet.”
He later went on to say:
“He’s tucked up behind me on a mock run, which doesn’t make any sense. Then he picks us up and sends us down in Turn 1. Just, it’s unnecessary, but you just can’t fix stupid.”
It will be interesting to see if Noah Gragson has anything to say on the track this week. William Sawalich should lay low.

Noah Gragson not afraid to get physical on or off track
Now, William Sawalich is 18 now, he’s an adult. But that kid has to be careful. Noah Gragson is a driver who is not afraid to settle things on or off the track. He got into a fight with Ross Chastain in his rookie season in the Cup Series!
I think that Kevin Harvick, who Sawalich is racing for this weekend, will talk to Sawalich. That 62 car is part of the alliance that was recently formed between Harvick and Rackely WAR. From what we saw in the footage, it was unneccesary aggressiveness.
This is a week-long event. If you make enemies on Thursday, there is no place to go but down at that point. There are so many practice sessions and these teams work so hard to put cars on the track; it’s uncalled for to drive that way on day one on the track.
Noah Gragson has his eye on William Sawalich. Now the teenager has a choice to make. He better make the right one.
