Noah Gragson wins NASCAR fan vote, earns entry into All-Star Race

While he couldn’t get one of the top two transfer spots, Noah Gragson has won the NASCAR Fan Vote. So, Gragson is heading to the All-Star Race tonight for a chance at $1,000,000 for the third year in a row.
The NASCAR All-Star Open was decided by the Riley Herbst caution that allowed drivers to put on scuff tires. I’m sure the drivers who took four tires early on are wishing that they hadn’t.
Tonight’s All-Star Race will award one lucky driver $1,000,000. With the two tire stops working in the Open, will we see that strategy used later tonight?
For now, Noah Gragson is the Mayor of North Wilkesboro, the most popular man in town. He will also race for the big check.
“You guys, you guys are the goats,” Gragson said of the fans. “It’s awesome to be a part of this All-Star Race, and I feel like we have a pretty good car. We struggled yesterday, really hard in practice. Qualified well. The pit crew did an unbelievable job. But I really struggle with the balance. Thank God for that Open race because I felt like we got the balance pretty good, but we ran into power steering issues.”
Noah Gragson is a guy who likes to party. NASCAR fans like to party. No surprise that they get along so well. Now, Gragson is hoping to get his car tuned up and ready to race after a second-to-last finish in the open.
Gragson took a bit of a shot at his old Stewart-Haas and Legacy Motor Club cars. He isn’t exactly wrong, either.

“The car actually feels pretty fast,” Gragson continued. “Last two years, I’ve drove the shit out of my car and now I was like, ‘Man we’re in the top five of the fan vote, the car feels good, we’ve got a little bit of power steering issues,’ but man, you fans, you guys are the goats. It truly means the world to have the support from the fans, and very grateful to be a part of this race.”
Carson Hocevar won the Open race. John Hunter Nemechek was P2. Both of those drivers will join Gragson in the main event tonight as well.
Brad Keselowski is going to start on the pole. Kyle Larson is starting in the rear after not qualifying due to his Indy 500 obligations. There is a lot that can happen between the green flag and the checkered flag.
On the old surface, Larson managed to make it from the rear to the front. This two-year-old pavement might not allow for that kind of performance tonight. We will be Cup Series racing at North Wilkesboro in less than an hour.
