Most football fans watched as Odell Beckham suffered an ACL injury in the Super Bowl this past season, but the receiver was apparently dealing with issues long before then.

On Saturday, Beckham claimed on Twitter that he played the second half of 2022 on a torn ACL.

“Krazy thought … really played the whole back half of the season without an acl, and won a super bowl!” he wrote. “God doesn’t misss, i swea.”

Beckham’s tweet implies that he suffered the injury prior to signing with the Los Angeles Rams after being waived by Cleveland. It also would mean that the Rams either missed the injury during his physical or were willing to take him on in spite of it. Both of those scenarios would be strange to say the least.

Odell Beckham has since undergone surgery this offseason to repair his ACL. He remains a free agent with a little more than two months to go before the 2022 season kicks off.

Beckham spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons in Cleveland but had a falling out with the team and played only six games in 2021. He went on to play in eight games with the Rams totaling 27 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns. That includes a season-high nine catches for 113 yards in the NFC Championship against San Francisco. He had two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown prior to leaving the Super Bowl.

Through his first six NFL seasons, Beckham surpassed the 1,000-yard mark five times and made three appearances in the Pro Bowl. However, he hasn’t even reached 1,000 yards in the past two seasons combined as injuries have played a part in both years. Given his past success though, it wouldn’t be surprising to see another team take a shot on him in 2022.

When that might be, however, depends on how quickly he is able to recover from the ACL injury and get back into game shape.
