Odell Beckham Jr. suspended six games for violating NFL PED policy

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. told The Pivot on Tuesday that he is accepting a six-game suspension for violating the NFL PED policy last season. The suspension starts today and would carry over the next six weeks, marking Week 12 as his return date if he were to sign with a team in the near future.
Per NFL Network‘s Tom Pelissero, Beckham Jr. said he has never knowingly taken any PED. The former All-Pro receiver spent the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins, where he hauled in nine catches for 55 yards in nine games.
Since being named to three consecutive Pro Bowls from 2014-2016, Beckham Jr. has bounced around the league. He spent his first five NFL seasons with the New York Giants, but was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019 just one season after signing a five-year, $95 million contract extension. After spending two and a half seasons in Cleveland, OBJ was released and subsequently picked up by the Los Angeles Rams.
It looked as if Beckham Jr. would experience a career resurgence under head coach Sean McVay in Los Angeles, but he wideout suffered an ACL tear in Super Bowl LVI. The LSU alum was dominating prior to the injury, hauling in two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. He however never played another down of football for the Rams and signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023 after rehabbing the entire 2022 season.

Beckham Jr. played in 14 games for the Ravens but suffered career-low numbers for a season in which he played at least 14 games. He hauled in 35 catches for three scores, but was not retained by the organization heading into 2024. He quickly moved to the Miami Dolphins and was waived in December after playing in just nine games.
He intends to latch on with a team and return to the NFL this season. This return would now take place in Week 12 at the latest.
