With Ole Miss and Oklahoma set to square off, one coach is in intriguing situations at this point. As other big jobs open, Lane Kiffin could be a target for a school like Florida, should they move on from Billy Napier. Heck, Penn State might give him a call.

Kiffin’s agent Jimmy Sexton is aiming to make his client the highest paid coach in the country. Whether that is at Ole Miss or elsewhere is anyone’s guess. But it at least sounds like the Rebels’ coach is trying to keep his feet where he’s at.

“If you just keep going and chasing, and you do that often, you’re missing things right in front of you,” Kiffin said of all the speculation in a one-on-one interview with On3’s Chris Low. “You’re always listening and looking, and that’s been a really common theme in my life from a job standpoint, and from a personal standpoint, of just missing what was right there in front of me. So, I think I view that much differently now.”
