Packers DT Karl Brooks blocks Bears' game-winning FG attempt to secure win

On Sunday, Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Karl Brooks blocked Chicago Bears kicker Cairo Santos‘ 46-yard game-winning field goal attempt to secure a 20-19 win for the Packers. Brooks rushed the middle and made enough contact with the ball to cause it to fall short.
It was a back-and-forth affair between the two teams, with five total lead changes throughout the game. With 2:59 left in the fourth quarter, Packers quarterback Jordan Love punched in a one-yard rushing touchdown to give Green Bay a 20-19 lead.
However, the Packers were unsuccessful on their two-point conversion attempt, leaving the door open for a Bears comeback. Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams did what was necessary, leading the team 42 yards on six plays and placing their special teams unit on the Packers’ 28-yard line.
Alas, Green Bay refused to accept defeat and took matters into its own hands. The Packers have won their last 11 meetings against the Bears, the longest win streak for either team in the storied rivalry’s history.
Packers CB Jaire Alexanders leaves game with injury
Although the Packers escaped with a win on Saturday, it wasn’t a perfect outing. Cornerback Jaire Alexander left the game after only playing 10 snaps. He was listed as questionable with a knee injury leading up to the game.

Alexander missed Green Bay’s Week 9 contest against the Detroit Lions (8-1) with the injury but had the Week 10 bye to get healthy. Carrington Valentine has replaced Alexander opposite Eric Stokes at outside corner.
Injuries have played a big role throughout the 27-year-old’s career. He played in just four games in 2021, and seven this past season. Of the Packers’ 10 games this season, he’s been healthy enough to play in seven of them. That includes his early exit against Chicago.
Alexander has continued to be productive when on the field, tallying 16 tackles (15 solo), two interceptions (one pick six) and seven passed defended coming into Sunday’s game. He did not get on the stat sheet Sunday.
