The Green Bay Packers have revealed its inactive list ahead of Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.

Wide receivers Randall Cobb (injured reserve) and Christian Watson were ruled out earlier in the week after being unable to practice consistently throughout the week. Thankfully for Aaron Rodgers, veteran wideout Sammy Watkins was activated earlier this week and was questionable to return action against Washington. Watkins is a welcome addition to an already-depleted wide receiving room.

Notably for the Commanders, starting quarterback Carson Wentz was put on the injured reserve list with a fractured finger on his throwing hand. He’ll miss at least four games, starting Sunday against the Packers. Taylor Heinicke will earn the start in his place.

More on Sammy Watkins, other roster moves to accommodate injuries

The Green Bay Packers should have a key offseason addition back in action this week after receiver Sammy Watkins was activated from the injured reserve on Saturday afternoon.

The organization announced the move, which was accompanied by a handful of other roster transactions to accommodate it.

Watkins was placed on the injured reserve back on Sept. 24 with a hamstring injury. He had logged six catches for 111 yards in the first two games of the season prior to his injury.

In order to reactivate Watkins, Green Bay placed receiver Randall Cobb and center/guard Jake Hanson on the injured reserve. The Packers also elevated linebacker La’Darius Hamilton from the practice squad to the active roster for gameday this week.

Other changes for Green Bay included tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) moving to questionable and defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt (illness) moving to questionable on the injury report.

Green Bay will take on Washington on Sunday, with a game that kicks off at 1 p.m. ET.
