Devonte Wyatt’s path to the NFL took a few twists and turns. He was originally an On3 Consensus four-star recruit coming out of Decatur (Ga.) Towers and signed with Georgia. But he was not able to play as a freshman and spent one season at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College before returning to Athens. At UGA, he became a regular starter in 2020 and recorded 25 tackles in 10 games. He burst onto the scene as a first-team all-SEC selection and was a big factor in the Dawgs’ national title run in 2021. He finished the 2021 season with 39 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 14 starts. His parents are Darlene and Larry Wyatt Sr.
