Packers sign OL Elgton Jenkins to four-year extension

The Green Bay Packers just came to terms on a new contract to keep one of their top offensive linemen in Green Bay for the foreseeable future. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Packers extended their current starting left guard, Elgton Jenkins, for four more years after he was drafted by the team in the second round in 2019. Jenkins has been a steady starter for the line and has played both tackle and guard. An elite, versatile piece for the Green Bay OL for years to come.
Here was the report and contract details for Elgton Jenkins, per Rapoport:
“Sources: The #Packers and star OL Elgton Jenkins have agreed to terms on a massive 4-year extension worth $68M base value with a max value of $74M. The deal, which makes him the 2nd highest paid guard in the NFL, was done by Damarius Bilbo & Kelton Crenshaw of @KlutchSports.”

Full participants — LB Krys Barnes (hand), QB Aaron Rodgers (right thumb/rib)
Removed from injury report — RB AJ Dillon (concussion protocol)
Green Bay released its Thursday injury report ahead of the game and saw four players practice in a limited capacity. The most notable name on that list was running back Aaron Jones, who’s dealing with a knee injury and was also limited in Wednesday’s walk-through. It’s not all bad news, though, as offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins went from a non-participant in the walk-through on Wednesday to a limited participant in practice on Thursday.
Linebacker Krys Barnes and quarterback Aaron Rodgers were both full participants despite their respective injuries while running back AJ Dillon was removed from the injury report as he exited concussion protocol. Dillon suffered the injury late in the Monday Night Football game against the Los Angeles Rams and entered concussion protocol shortly thereafter.
Tight end Marcedes Lewis missed practice Thursday but didn’t have an injury designation. He had a veteran rest day.
